YouTube Creator Academy-Grow your audience boot camp-Day 5

I posted the previous blog. Here is day 5: keep viewers watching(Turn a single view into longer watch time using annotations, descriptions and more.)

Day 5: keep viewers watching: Turn a single view into longer watch time using annotations, descriptions and more.( time 15 mins, basic level)

Subject read:
Best practices: Turn one view into many by setting up cards, annotations, and video descriptions. These built-in features can keep your fans engaged with your channel and related media. Cards and annotations are clickable tools you can add to each of your videos that encourage viewers to take an action, at specific time points in your video, like: watch more through a playlist, go to your website, support your fundraising campaign, or subscribe. Video descriptions are opportunities for you to add context to each video and share your brand.

-Cards.
+Cards work best when they are placed in conjunction with scripted calls to action.
-Annotations.
+Annotations are clickable, customizable text or images that only appear on desktop. You can use them to send viewers to more of your videos or playlists, your website, to cross-promote, or take viewers back to your channel page.
-Featured content.
+Featured content promotes a playlist or video from your channel across all of your uploads at one time. (It was formerly called “InVideo Programming”). This type of promotion is viewable on desktop and can help you bridge devices.
This course have a few information to show.
Get activities: answer some question.

Check your knowledge:
Question 1: As a creator, why should you consider using annotations on your videos?
Correct answer is All of the above.
Wrong answers are:
-Encourage viewers to visit and view more of your content.
-Increase community actions on your videos i.e. liking, commenting and sharing.
-Attract new subscribers to your content.

Question 2: Which 4 things should you consider when adding annotations to your videos?
Correct answer is: Duration, placement, timing and function.
Wrong answers are:
-Placement, description, release schedule, and function.
-Ad placement, description, viewer tolerance, and function.
-Viewer tolerance, description, placement and function.

The system show the congratulation after I completed the course from the begin to the end. I will take new knowledge to apply my "Explorer Mr Channel" channel. I go along with the analytic of the youtube channel to define how it is effective.

Next: Use playlists and sections( Viewers like to watch more of a good thing. Organize your videos into easy-to-find catalogs of playlists and sections.)
